For iPhone:

For iOS (iPhone/iPad), you can change the language settings with the following steps:

1. Open the Instagram app, go to your profile page, and tap the ≡ icon in the upper right corner (if more options appear, tap "Settings")
   

2. Scroll down to find "Language" under "Your app and media", and tap it

3. In the "How to set your Instagram app language" dialog, tap "Continue"
   

Tapping "Continue" will switch to the iOS settings screen. Tap "Language" and select your language to complete the settings change.

(If your language is not available in the selectable languages here, you need to set the language in the device's Settings app first.)

For Android

Open the Instagram app, tap on your profile icon, and then follow these steps to change the language settings:

1. Select "Settings" from the three-dot icon in the upper right corner
   

2. Tap "Account" and select "Language"
   

3. Tap your language from the list to apply
   

If language settings don't work

Changing the language settings will not change the language of posts or captions in your feed. It only changes the display language of menus and options within the app.

If the language settings are not working properly, try restarting the app or logging out and back in. If it still doesn't improve, updating the app or restarting your smartphone itself can sometimes be effective.
